Wanting to make an educated decision, after careful research on my own, in no way calls into question the quality of advice received from family, friends or advisors.
If someone is offended that I want to carefully consider my options and do a little more research before making a final decision . . . well, it shows me that there is ego in the advice I just received and they may not have my best interest in mind.
My lesson from this?
Never be bullied into making a decision that doesn’t sit well just because someone thinks they know what’s right for you.
Take your time, do your research and think about it before commiting.
The people who are really on your team will support and encourage you to educate yourself and not be insulted that you didn’t stop doing research before you were ready to make a final decision.
