I’ve been binge watching #watercolor YouTube videos for the last week and *finally* finished all of the #ChristmasCards and #GiftTags for this year. 🥳

#HappyThanksgiving! 🦃

I’ve been in the kitchen all morning #bakingfromscratch and I will tell you that all the hard work is worth it!

One of my favorite #ThanksgivingDinner treats are these Cloverleaf #DinnerRolls.

Do you remember these?

It takes two hours for the dough to rise the first time and an hour more once they are in the #muffintin.
Only 15 minutes to bake.

I’ll keep working on the recipe (reducing the amount of sugar) and try an egg wash on the next batch.

I’m *SO* grateful for my dear @thebrandonpierce - he’s my partner in life and in business.

I rarely take photos while I’m baking because often my hands are covered in flour, raw cookie dough, or I have many things cooking at once and I forget. 🤷‍♀️

It’s a wonderful thing to have someone willing to not only be your taste tester but your photographer. ❤️

Discovered these beautiful #VintageSheets while do

Discovered these beautiful #VintageSheets while doing a little #FallCleaning. 😍

These #Springmaid Marvelaire “Prelude” sheets and pillowcases were once @thebrandonpierce’s great grandparents. ❤️
We even have their twin wooden bed frames! (a future restoration project!)

Originally these sheets were offered in pink, blue or yellow roses with stitched edging.

I’m thinking of using the pillow cases and making a twin duvet cover from the flat sheets to lay across the foot of our bed... but the fitted sheets? Hmmm

I can imagine seeing a fun new apron, cafe curtains for the laundry room, or maybe even a vintage inspired house dress. 🤔

Best part of this #familytreasure? They’re #madeintheusa and as old as we are! 😂

I’m spending some quiet time #mending my dear @thebrandonpierce’s favorite zip up sweater.

Fall is a favorite time of year for me because I get to snuggle in and make time for favorite clothes that have been added to my mending basket.

Have you ever heard the saying #MakeDoAndMend?

Fun Fact: “Make Do and Mend was a pamphlet issued by the British Ministry of Information in the midst of WWII. It was intended to provide housewives with useful tips on how to be both frugal and stylish in times of harsh rationing.”

I’m a firm believer in #MindfulMending...not just to help #LovedClothesLast, but to thoughtfully use the time as my #MindfulMeditation. ❤️

#MendingMatters to me because I get to lovingly repair treasured clothing and spend a little less time looking at a screen.

If you have a needle and thread and items that need some TLC, I encourage you to #MendDontSpend. You won’t regret the investment.

#HalloweenTreats🎃

I spent more time than I’d like to admit baking this “pumpkin” cake today and I learned plenty ... my biggest takeaway from trying to bake a cake in the shape of a pumpkin is this - DON’T USE CARROT CAKE.

#CarrotCake is a fantastic cake, but (BIG BUT) it’s not suited for the nuanced shape of a Bundt pan or fancy shaping of icing. 😖

After many crumbled attempts of shaping the icing, I finally gave in to the lesson learned - said good enough, and shared it anyway.

I do plan on attempting this again - only with a simple yellow cake recipe... or chocolate. 🤔

#WhatILearnedToday ... Things don’t always turn out the way we hope. That doesn’t mean our effort was wasted. #MistakesAreLessons
